ARP Funding Request

The Missouri Citizens for the Arts and MAAE's Legislative Liaison, Kyna Iman have been working to obtain American Recovery Program (ARP) dollars to aid recovery of the arts and arts education. She met with representatives from Governor Parson's office, Lieutenant Governor Kehoe's office, Dan Haug at the Office of Budget & Planning, and to Chairs of the House Budget Committee, Senate Appropriations Committee and the House Committee on Federal Stimulus Spending and has been in touch with Missouri's Director of Economic Development and the Director of Tourism sharing information.

Through information we've learned through the National Council of State Legislators’ the Missouri request looks to be in line with what is being appropriated through the Arts, Culture and Tourism in other states. ARPA State Fiscal Recovery Fund Allocations (ncsl.org) Also, we believe this is close to the amount MAC should be receiving through the 60% allocation of the non-resident professional athlete and entertainers’ tax.

Access the one-page document below which outlines the ask and offers a few details and statistics. Please reach out to your State Senator and State Representative share this information and request their support for funding the Arts!!
