The Missouri Alliance for Arts Education is always listening to Missouri arts educators, and seeks to find ways that we can help. The currently unfunded ideas for potential future  programming and the administrative structure to fully support the work of MAAE is outlined below. 

EDUCATE
Professional Development

  • Workshop Presenters - $50

Funding request must be approved by the sponsoring Missouri arts education organization and  the honorarium will not be awarded to a mentor who works as a full or part-time employee within the same school district as the mentee. .   • New Teacher Mentoring Support - $225 (per request)
Underwrite reimbursement of up to $200 in expenses per request, for attendance at formal mentoring events planned and implemented by Missouri's statewide arts education organizations. (as yet unfunded and subject to availability of funds)BENEFITS

Underwrite reimbursement of up to $200 in expenses per request, for attendance at Missouri arts education conferences.   • Wellness Symposium Partnership - $750

Racism, Inclusion Diversity Equity (R.I.D.E)RIDE Programs Director - $1,500
If funded, this position would work directly with the Executive Director Supplement costs associated with administration and implementation of RIDE professional development and youth development programming. Includes Inclusion Diversity Equity in the Arts (IDEA) sessions, recruitment of presenters, outreach, committee work facilitation, planning and logistics related to Cross-Cultural Youth Development programming. The duties of this as-yet-unfunded position are currently absorbed by the Executive Director.

Cross-Cultural Youth Development Program
Supplement costs associated with delivery of the DEI and Delicious Dishes program consisting of planning sessions, virtual format cross-cultural meetings, two in-person field trips, art-materials and printing publication costs.
  • Host Teacher Training/Planning - $125 (per teacher)
5 hours of collaborative planning at $25/hour for each teacher involved in the collaboration.

  • Field trip  - $1,000 (per trip)
For each collaborative partnership, at least two field trips are planned; one to the urban setting and one to the rural setting. $1,000 reflects transportation, admission and meal costs for approximately 60 students for one field trip.

MMEA - HONORS ENSEMBLES RECORDINGS - $750Underwrite the purchase of Audio and Video Recordings from featured performing ensembles from the annual Missouri Music Educators Association Professional Learning Conference.

Recordings of exceptional student performers at the high school level competitively selected for inclusion in All-State Honors Ensembles in  Band, Choir, Orchestra, Jazz Band and Children's Choir
  • All-Collegiate Honors Ensembles - $20 audio, $25 video 
Recordings of exceptional student performers at the collegiate level perform as part of an All-Collegiate Honors Ensemble. One per year on a rotating schedule basis in  Band, Choir, Orchestra, Jazz Band .
  • Local Honors Ensembles - $20 each for audio, $25 each for video 
Recordings of exceptional student performers at a variety of  age/grade levels invited to perform at the annual Missouri Music Educator's Conference through a juried selection process.

Legislative Liaison - $4,400Underwrite the honorarium for our lobbyist who meets weekly with MAAE's Legislative Watch Committee, assists with development of our annual advocacy agenda, provides insight into current issues in the Missouri House and Senate, provides weekly (or more frequent) updates on current legislative actions, and advises MAAE on strategy for obtaining desired results in legislation and policy making.

MAAE Conference Travel Expenses related to Missouri Arts EducationActive listening to voices from the field and support, learning more about needs and best practice is facilitated by MAAE attendance at professional learning conferences sponsored by Missouri's Arts Education Associations. MAAE sponsors an exhibit booth and offers presentations to facilitate professional learning.     Exhibit booth fees are waived by mutual agreement for each group listed below. 
Although Exhibit fees are waived for the organizations listed above, travel and material expenses are incurred. Your sponsorship can help ensure that the relationship between MAAE and each of the statewide arts education organization remains strong.

Arts Education Data Project - $5,000Underwrites MAAE's portion of the annual fee due to Quantum Research for maintenance of the online dashboard  housed on the website of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education  and also funded by DESE and the Missouri Arts Council. Data from this investment allows the viewer to note courses offered in Fine Arts and student enrollment data at the state, county, district and school level.

Large Research Projects - $20,000-$30,000 (per project)
In the 2010 and 2015 MAAE conducted research studies "The Arts Make a Difference" and "The Arts Still Make a Difference" providing support for the continuance of arts education in Missouri schools. The revisiting of a large research project such as this would be contingent upon the availability of adequate funding.)

ADMINISTRATION
Executive Director - $34,000This position works directly with the board and facilitates meetings of the executive committee and board of directors. The Executive Director also coordinates collaboration among all other employees and contracted staff, and assists where needed to more fully implement MAAE programs and operations.

Communications Director - $3,000This position works directly with the Executive Director and all other employees and contracted staff, to facilitate effective communication. Our current communications director logs up to 15 hours per month for payment at an hourly rate. Additional duties of this underfunded position are currently absorbed by the Executive Director.
