Connecting Arts Teachers: The Alliance helps arts educators connect with professional arts organizations in the state, reducing isolation and connecting them to best practices. MAAE also sponsors scheduled sessions of three FREE professional learning networks:
Fine Arts Missouri Educators (FAME) - problem-solving/discussion group for fine arts educators
Inclusion Diversity and Equity in the Arts - (IDEA) addressing diversity and arts curricular issues
Missouri Arts Integration Network (MAIN) - open to any educator, in any subject or grade level

F.A.M.E. (Fine Arts Missouri Educators) - Leadership Group
The FAME Leadership Group is open to all arts educators, but is particularly geared toward arts educators who take on leadership roles in their setting. This free professional learning community welcomes all arts integration practitioners. (any subject, any age/grade level)

The IDEA network is open to all. A project of the MAAE's RIDE committee, this informal gathering meets quarterly via ZOOM and is designed to be a safe space for open communication about issues connected with racism, inclusion, diversity and equity for arts educators. A roundtable forum, this can be a place where people can share concerns, ask questions and seek answers or solutions to help bring greater equity for all.

Help school districts, LEAs and arts educators plan for content-specific job embedded professional development! Spread the word about great PD Content - to help PD planners throughout the year!
Making the rich resources generated by individuals and non-profit organizations more widely available to arts educators can help arts ed professional learning happen throughout the year, and not just at the annual professional learning conferences. Live or in-person, virtual and pre-recorded content welcome.

About the Presenter: Maria A. Ellis is a passionate educator and conductor. She is the owner of Girl Conductor, a company that creates diverse music education resources, and currently serves as the Director of The Sheldon’s City of Music All-Star Chorus and The St. Louis Children’s Choirs Virtual Chorus. Maria is an active clinician, adjudicator and presenter throughout the United States and abroad. She holds a B.M. in Music Education emphasis on Voice (K-12 Certified) Degree from the University of Missouri- St. Louis. She has served as the Arts and Administrative Fellow for The St. Louis Symphony and has served as the Community Engagement Manager for The St. Louis Children’s Choirs. Maria is the host of Bach and Beyoncé on Classic 107.3 The Voice for the Arts in St. Louis and she is the Repertoire and Resource Chair of Inclusivity for the Missouri Choral Directors Association. Maria is an active member of the American Choral Directors Association, National Association of Music Educators, Missouri Alliance for Arts Education, where she is chair of the RIDE (Race, Inclusion, Diversity & Equity) Committee and holds Level 3 Certification from the CME Institute for Choral Teacher Education.
