I.D.E.A. COUNCIL

  • How is your organization navigating the paths of diversity?
  • What questions do you have?
  • What help are you needing?
  • What has been working well for you?
  • What might we learn from each other?

We live, educate, and create in a diverse world.

The RIDE (Race, Inclusion, Diversity and Equity) committee within the Missouri Alliance for Arts Education addresses inequalities related to diversity. One of the committee’s goals is to support the work of arts educators as our allied organizations navigate the path toward equity and inclusion.

We seek 1-3 representatives from statewide arts education organizations to attend the annual meeting of the I.D.E.A. Council. This will help MAAE check in with you and your organization, as well as receiving advice and support from other arts educators engaged in this work in Missouri. Please provide the names and contact information of representatives from your organization to the IDEA Council by July 21st by sending an email to director@moaae.org.

NOTE: This I.D.E.A. Council meets once a year and is for leadership teams guiding their organizations as they navigate the pathways of diversity.

MAAE's I.D.E.A. Professional Learning Network meets quarterly via ZOOM and provides collegial supports individual arts educators. >Learn more here .

Q: Why is this important and how can being interconnected help us all?

A: We can ALL learn from each other. There is no one-size-fits-all strategy for organizational growth. Tapping into the collective wisdom of arts education leaders across disciplines can inform our practice and inspire positive action.
