The Alliance has a formal agreement with the Missouri Art Education Association.
MAEA is a principal ally and holds seats on the MAAE Board of Directors and MAAE Executive Committee.
MAAE seeks funding to support the statewide professional learning conferences sponsored by MAEA.
MAAE and MAEA work collaboratively and share financial responsibilities for the Senate Student Fine Arts Exhibit.

MAAE's Missouri Arts Council (MAC) grants have provided funding support for MAEA Professional Learning Conferences. Through MAC, MAAE was able to provide $1,000 in professional development funding support to assist with expenses associated with the 2023 Spring Conference. The 2023 Spring MAEA Conference (Springfield) reached 280 art educators from all across Missouri, who serve nearly 72,000 students and their families.
MAEA Spring Professional Learning Conference
Although the venue changes to allow statewide access, the Spring MAEA professional learning conference unites Missouri Art Educators allowing them to learn from each other, gain knowledge, information, support and hands on experience to improve their instructional practice to better meet the needs of their students.
MAEA Fall Professional Learning Conference
Held at Knob Noster State Park, this annual Fall professional learning conference is sometimes referred to as the "un-conference" due to its rural and somewhat unconventional setting. The MAEA Fall Conference provides opportunities for new-teacher/mentor support, networking, hands-on experience with new techniques and media, lots of informal bonding and opportunities for learning to improve their instructional practice.
Senate Student Fine Arts Exhibition
A collaborative project between MAAE and MAEA, The Senate Student Fine Arts Exhibit allows for the collection of student artwork from all 34 Missouri Senate districts and the selection of one example of student work to be on display for the coming year in the hallway which connects the Senate parking structure to the Missouri Capitol. In 2023, more than 1,100 works of student art were submitted, catalogued, sorted and submitted for Senate consideration. The selected works of art may be viewed on our youtube channel.
