A research survey regarding the fine arts and arts education
A collaborative research survey project between MAAE and Missouri Citizens for the Arts was sent out in September of 2026. Missouri primary election winners were asked to respond to a survey regarding their attitudes toward the arts and arts education. We received responses from those candidates listed below. The Missouri Alliance for Arts Education is non-partisan and does not endorse political candidates.
89.4% of respondents identified themselves as members of the Democratic Party, 10.6% identified as Republican party.
95.7% stated a belief that state government has a role to play in arts infrastructure.
100% indicated a belief that the arts have social and economic value.
83% voiced support for increased arts funding.
95.7% stated their willingness to support arts instruction to benefit students and aid workforce development.
