The MAAE Creativity and Innovation in Teaching Award
The Missouri Alliance for Arts Education recognizes a fine arts educator for creativity and innovation in teaching a visual or performing arts class at the MAAE Fine Arts Education Day at the State Capitol. Students, teachers, administrators, parents and community members may nominate a teacher for this award. For more information, call Ben Martin at 816.522.8387.
To nominate a teacher for the award provide a response to the following:
1. Why do you think the teacher you are nominating should receive this award?
2. Provide at least one example of creative and innovative teaching by the teacher.
Responses should be no longer than 500 words and should be typed, double spaced, with a 12-point font using Word or a similar program. In the upper left corner, list the teacher’s name, arts subject the teacher teaches, where the teacher is employed (school district and building), name of the person nominating the teacher (teachers may nominate themselves), contact information for the person nominating the teacher including telephone number and e-mail address.

The deadline for submitting entries is January 31st. One teacher will be selected to be honored at the MAAE Fine Arts Education Day at the State Capitol.
MAAE recognizes two government officials each year—one elected and one appointed—who have demonstrated consistent and committed support for arts education in Missouri.
