develop and implement a statewide comprehensive arts education plan with
a goal of making the arts a basic part of education for all Missourians.

Plan and hold a Missouri Fine Arts Education Day (Ongoing)
Develop a database of Missouri-specific arts education statistics
Build a statewide coalition for implementation of the MAP Fine Arts 5th
Grade Assessment
Increase dialogue with targeted organizations on reinstatement of MAP
Fine Arts
Obtain Governors support for implementation of MAP Fine Arts
Involve Governor Blunt in FAED
Work for reinstatement of a Fine Arts requirement (1500 minutes) at the
middle school/junior high level
Provide professional development workshops for Missouri teachers and
performing artists (Ongoing)

Governor in October-January, and Legislature in November-December)

Develop and fund a research project to obtain Missouri arts education

Seek funding sources for MAAE
Encourage support for statewide funding of the Missouri Arts Council
