| Mission Statement |
| The Mission of the Missouri Alliance for Arts Education is to develop and implement a statewide comprehensive arts education plan with a goal of making the arts a basic part of education for all Missourians. |
| About the MAAE |
The MAAE is a consortium of arts education associations that represent dance, drama/theatre, music and visual art. The members of these associations have joined together with other fine arts and education-related organizations in Missouri in order to speak with a louder voice for the importance of the arts in our schools.
The MAAE works to increase awareness of the value of the fine arts, sponsors research to better understand the state of the arts in Missouri public schools, and organizes the annual Fine Arts Education Day at the State Capitol.
The MAAE is partnering with fine arts students through Show Me Arts, student-led advocacy groups that have formed in high schools across the state. Show Me Arts and the MAAE developed fine arts education legislation, secured Missouri House and Senate sponsors, testified at House and Senate Education Committee hearings, and continue to work together to support fine arts education initiatives.
